Smiling for Smiddy rides into WA

Sharky’s Oz 7-in-7 cycle around Australia enters its fourth year in 2011 cycling the WA coastline

Since 2008, Sharky has cycled over 8000 kilometres as part of his quest to knock off cycling around Australia in seven stages over seven years. Each year, on completion of the Bottlemart Smiddy Challenge Sharky heads off the next stage of his 7-in-7 journey. 2011 is the fourth stage, leaving Karratha for Esperance in WA to raise funds for cancer research. Sharky will be joined by three cycling buddies and one road crew member.

As part of this year’s 7-in-7 cycle through WA, the riders will host a fundraising night for the Perth based Telethon Institute for Child Health Research:

Saturday 24 September 2011, 7pm

OP’s Tavern, Bar & Café

444 Scarborough Beach Road, Osborne Park, Perth.

The evening will include a meal and screening of the cycling documentary ‘The Long Road’ – a heartfelt insight into the Smiddy challenge events. We invite you to support cancer research and be part of this local community event. View event flyer>>
