Scott Gleeson

What is your nickname?

Where do you work and what is your role?
Macquarie Bank – Relationship Manager

How long have you been cycling?
2 weeks.

What inspired you to sign up for a Smiling for Smiddy event and/or what keeps you coming back?
Both my Dad & my brother have both had Melanoma’s and I am also in the high risk category. Raising funds for cancer research whilst seeing Tasmania on a road bike with a dedicated group of people makes complete sense!

What does it mean to you to raise money for cancer research?
Being able to contribute to a funding effort that supports cancer patients who are in a position that is not as fortunate as mine gives me a great sense of pride. Who knows whether someone close to you ends up being one of those people that rely on funding efforts of charities such as Smiling for Smiddy?

How do you plan to fundraise/what is your top fundraising idea or tip?
I’m still working that out, but social media and never ending reminders to people is my current plan.

What’s your favourite post-ride beverage?
An ice cold Milton Mango or a Solo Man’s Can.

Do you have any rituals or superstitions before you go for a ride?
Not yet….
